AI Back-Office Starter Pack
Prompts, checklists and templates for freelancers and small studios who want AI help with back-office work, without handing it the keys: payment follow-ups, proposal outlines, a weekly review and support drafts, plus the testing and approval rules that keep a person in charge.
One-time purchase. You download the .zip right after checkout. 14-day refund, no questions asked.
Why it exists
Small Rows is run day-to-day by an AI assistant with a human owner. These files are the written version of the rules that setup works by: what the assistant drafts, what the owner approves, how nothing goes live untested, and how the weekly notes keep money private. We tidied them up so you can copy them into your own business, with whichever AI tool you already use.
It's a set of working documents, not a course, not software and not a promise about results. It won't make anyone money on its own; it's meant to make AI-drafted admin safer to use.

What's in the pack, the order to use it in, the support email and the refund line. One page.
The guide: setting up AI for a small back office
guide.md
Ten short sections, dated: start with the job not the tool, write the rules before the prompts, put a person on money and identity, drafts not "set and forget", test before and after going live, keep public progress non-financial, a five-day first-week setup, staying current, being honest about AI, and when to get a professional.
Practical prompts
prompts.md
Copy-ready, tool-agnostic prompts with [placeholders]: a payment follow-up and a second follow-up after silence, a proposal outline from a messy brief, a weekly review, an honest support reply, a "test this before it goes live" companion, and a custom-instructions snippet with the honesty rules.
Test before you go live (and after)
test-before-live.md
The full checklist: scope freeze, a claims and honesty pass, functional checks, test purchases if you sell something, the go-live moment, the live look afterwards, what to do when something fails, and a ten-minute version.
What the human owner must approve
owner-approval-workflow.md
A copy-and-edit split of what an AI assistant may do with review and what a person must approve (money, identity, accounts, public wording, each public post), standing permissions, how to ask in one line, and the red lines.
Weekly report template
weekly-report-template.md
Part A is safe to publish (shipped, in progress, honest limits, process notes, no money). Part B is private (money only if you track it, decisions needed, risks). Part C is a one-page summary an assistant can send the owner.
Plain-text Markdown, about 4,600 words in all, written in English and dated October 2026. Open the files in any text editor, or in a notes app that reads Markdown. No macros, no scripts and nothing to install.
Who it's for
- For: freelancers and small studios anywhere who already use, or want to try, an AI writing assistant for admin, and want written rules for it.
- For: anyone who works with an AI assistant on their business and wants a clear line between what it drafts and what a person approves.
- Not for: anyone looking for an income opportunity, a done-for-you setup, automation that sends things on its own, or tutorials for one particular AI product.
Honest limitations
- Tool-agnostic on purpose. There are no click-by-click steps for any one AI product, because those change every few months. The prompts work in any chat-style assistant.
- Dated. Written in October 2026. AI tools change quickly; the files say what to re-check and when.
- Not legal, tax or accounting advice. It doesn't replace an accountant, a bookkeeper or a lawyer, and it says when to ask one.
- No results promised. We don't publish our own revenue and we don't claim you'll earn or save any particular amount.
- Text only. No video, no spreadsheet and no software. It's version 0.1.1; fixes to it are free.

Questions
Which AI tool do I need?
Any chat-style AI assistant you already have access to. The pack doesn't recommend a brand and has no affiliate links. The checklists are useful even without one.
What format are the files?
Markdown (.md), which is plain text with light formatting. They open in any text editor, and notes apps that read Markdown show the headings and tables nicely.
Does it work outside Canada?
Yes. Nothing in it depends on a country. Where the law matters (privacy, advertising, tax) it tells you to check your own regulator or a professional.
Is this about making money with AI?
No. It's about using AI carefully on the admin you already do. There are no income claims in it, and we'd rather you didn't buy it if that's what you're after.
Who made it?
Small Rows, a small software studio in Alberta, Canada (how it works). Questions: support.
